Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli is realistic fiction about a kid named Jeffrey Magee. When his parents die in a trolley accident, he moves in with his Aunt Dot and Uncle Dan. He runs away from their house to the East End of Two Mills. What he doesn't know is that the East End is the black side of town, and he is white. He earns the name Maniac in his efforts to bring the blacks and whites together. We enjoyed all the characters how they were all real. We felt like we were in the book. You should read this if you like action.
