Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games: A Review by Flynn!

Katniss is a girl 16 years of age. She lives in the futuristic, distant, disturbed land of District Twelve. She has to illegally hunt jut to feed her family. But when she enters the Hunger Games, a televised event in which 24 children fight to the death, everything changes. I loved this book because it has action, suspense, gore and romance. You should read this book because it is highly entertaining and leaves you wanting more.

Katniss Everdeen is 16 and lives in the small mining town of District 12. Her father was killed in a mine accident, her mother is in shock and her sister has just been picked to play in the Capitol’s ruthless Hunger Games. Fearing for her sister’s life, Katniss volunteers to take her place. In every Hunger Games, two people from every District (24 people) fight to the death. There will only be one survivor. In the Games, Katniss and Peta, a boy from District 12, become very close. Katniss knows he might die and maybe by her hand, but how could she let him die after all they’ve been through together? Will Katniss be able to survive and finally go home? The Hunger Games have begone. I loved this book because it kept me on my toes and left me craving for more. It’s exciting and suspenseful, qualities I look for in a book. Suzanne has done a terribly marvelous job. If you like adventure and fantasy with a little horror mixed in, you will like this book. - Review

The protagonist or main character in The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a 16 year old girl named Katniss. I feel that important themes in this book is love, teamwork, death, and friendship. Three important events that happened was first the reaping when Katniss took her sister's place as tribute. Second was when she screamed out Peeta's name when the rules of the games are changed. Finally, was the end scene. I liked this book because I love books with adventure and it really grabbed my attention when I started reading it. You should read this book because it is a really interesting book. - Review
